Let’s get funky today!

The super-band of all star musician released their first video for their single.

Rock Candy Funk Party is composed of Tal Bergman on drums, Joe Bonamassa on guitar, Ron DeJesus on guitar, Mike Merritt on bass and Renato Neto on the keyboard. I’m sure you are familiar with some of those names but just in case you are not sure where, they played with artists such as Joe Zawinul, Hugh Masekela, Prince, Ruth Brown, Chaka Khan, Simples Minds, Billy Idol, Tito Puente, Bruce Springsteen, Rod Stewart, Levon Helm, Conan O’Brien and Sheila E. You can download this superb jam for free on their website but you should also listen to the 8 other jams on their CD.

If you had to associate folk music to a country I’m pretty sure you would pick USA, but a lot of talented musician from other countries grew up with the melodies of Dylan, Young, Cash… Guess what? Now they want to play this music too. So Folk around the World is a recurring feature to make you travel while listening to some amazing artists.

First stop of the year: Israel

Asaf Avidan is was the front man of the Israeli rock band “Asaf Avidan & the Mojos”. They released three albums together and he is about to released a solo album called “Different Pulses”. After the break with his band Asaf toured with only his guitar and harmonica. People enjoyed so much those intimate shows that Asaf decided to rent a small room and record some songs. The result is amazing. This video is one of the 19 you can watch/listen/buy at

Since we all love to dance here and Asaf got his major international breakthrough with a remix, here the Reckokning song remix. Press play, dance and enjoy (but don’t forget the true talent of Asaf)

Yesterday the Widower released a superb album. Their songs are simple, beautiful and heartbreaking.

The fact that there are no consensus among bloggers about their favorite songs is a proof of the quality of this album. Most of the time there will be One songs that everybody love, a single, here Adam of Songfortheday picked “Thoroughbred”, Jessica at New Music Collaborative chose “Jumper Cables”, I got hooked on “Almost, Always, All Yours” and I’m sure you will put on repeat one of the other songs.
